The sealed factory lamps are designed to be throw away when the bulb dies, thus the quality of the housing is low. On top of that, the stock lamps aren't as bright as most people would like. The Hella H4 conversion kit include much higher quality housing that allow for the replacement of individual bulbs. The low beam will yield about four times as much light as a standard sealed beam and twice as much on high beam. Hella E-code headlights conform to European Standards and as such are not DOT approved.
